Gwyneth Paltrow Shares a Rare Selfie With Ex-Husband Chris Martin: "We Love You"
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin may have "consciously uncoupled" back in 2016, but the former spouses prove that their friendship has remained strong, even post-marriage. Paltrow posted a rare selfie on 2 March wearing square glasses and smiling next to her ex-husband wearing a woolly hat, to wish him a happy 46th birthday. It's unclear exactly when the photo was taken, but the former couple look comfortable and content in each other's presence, further highlighted by the Goop founder's heart-warming caption. "Happy birthday to the sweetest father and friend❤️we love you, cajm," she wrote on Instagram, spelling out his full initials.
While the pair, who share daughter Apple and son Moses, have gone their separate ways, they have remained good friends with this latest social media appreciation post cementing their close bond. Since their amicable split, Paltrow has gone onto marry TV producer Brad Falchuk who she met on the set of "Glee" and married in 2018. And the Coldplay singer has been in a longterm relationship with "50 Shades of Grey" actor Dakota Johnson since 2017. The exes and new partners regularly hang out together, and have even holidayed as a group.
Paltrow's tribute to Martin came just one day after she posted another birthday message on Instagram for Falchuk. The "Iron Man" star posted a snap of her husband alongside the caption, "He won't see this as he's not on social (another reason why he's so cool) but let's all wish him a happy birthday, anyway💙". While Paltrow is undoubtedly the poster woman for remaining friends with exes, having also stayed pals with ex-fiancé Brad Pitt, this particular show of affection for Martin has us applauding the "unconscious coupling" of their celebrity friendship.
