From Cosmopolitan

  • Gwyneth Paltrow was just high-key roasted by her own daughter Apple for being an embarrassing Instagram mum and posting a picture of her without asking.

  • The GOOP CEO responded to her 14-year-old's daughter comment but didn't take down the post, so we're guessing Apple wasn't actually pissed at her mom.

Gwyneth Paltrow, a cool mum™️, just committed the ultimate parenting faux pas: posting a picture of her daughter on Instagram without asking for permission first. Gwyneth's daughter Apple turned 14 nearly a year ago - in May 2018-which we know because the GOOP guru posted a rare pic of her kiddo to celebrate the birthday milestone. You remember being 14, right? It's super embarrassing to even have parents, let alone allow them to post evidence of your biological connection on social media.

Okay, so, Gwyneth posted this selfie of her and Apple from the chairlift while on some kind of (lux, I assume) ski trip. The caption, "🍎⛷❤️", gets points for cleverness, I'll give Gwyneth that.

Harmless, right? Apparently not. Apple commented on the picture, writing, “Mom we have discussed this. You may not post anything without my consent.” It's hard to tell whether Apple's reaction is coming from a place of ~pure~ adolescence, or if she's actually irked that her mom is putting her private life out in public. But Gwyneth's response, “you can’t even see you face!” seems to indicate that there isn't actually much tension between the mother-daughter duo.

🍎⛷❤️

Regardless, Apple's point is legit. You can't just let your parents post whatever the hell they want on social media. That's how pictures of your embarrassing, terribly awkward teenage years end up on the internet for the entire world to see-especially when your mom is a famous businesswoman/Academy Award-winning actress with 5.3 million followers on Instagram. Apple needs to protect her brand, okay?

She definitely doesn't have to worry, though. She's already cooler than all of the rest of us combined.
