Ever since Greggs did us a solid by releasing its incredible vegan sausage roll, the nation has been crying out for some more vegan treats from the UK’s favourite bakery brand.

And at long last, our cries have been heard and Greggs is releasing a vegan menu! Was there ever a more fabulous piece of news?

Greggs shared a video on its social media, which simply said: “Believe the hype. Greggs x Vegan. Dropping January 2020.”

But that’s it – that’s all the information we have. We have no idea if Greggs has a vegan steak bake up its sleeve. Or whether a vegan Festive Bake will be winging its way to us next Christmas. But at least we know that we only have a few short weeks to find out what’s in store for us.

January (or should we say Veganuary?) is going to be a big month for vegan releases, as McDonald’s has also revealed that its launching its first ever vegan meal in the UK on 2 January in the shape of Veggie Dippers.

These tasty breadcrumbed bad boys are made with red pepper, rice, sundried tomato pesto and split peas, and are surrounded by light and crispy breadcrumbs. They’ve been accredited by The Vegan Society and everything!

Customers will be able to order the dippers a part of a meal with Vegan Society approved fries and a soft drink. This meal will set you back £4.99. They’ll also be available as part of a Happy Meal following the success of the first vegetarian Happy Meal earlier this year. A Veggie Dippers Happy Meal (which includes the dippers, a vegan side of your choice – either vegetable bag, fruit bag or fries – and water or a Fruit Shoot) will cost £2.99.
