The Great British Bake Off said goodbye to another contestant this week, as Lizzie Acker sadly became the eighth baker to be eliminated from the competition.

While it's gutting every time a Bake Off contestant has to leave the tent, Lizzie's departure had us feeling even more emotional thanks to the sweet letter she wrote after leaving - and it's actually adorable.

In the cute handwritten note, which was shared on the GBBO Twitter account, the 28-year-old gushed about how she'd gone from being a huge Bake Off fan to actually being in the tent, as well as thanking her fellow contestants.

Lizzie wrote, "What a 10/10 experience! Being on BAKE OFF has been mental. I went from being a mad Bake Off fan and stalker of the past bakers to being in the tent."

"I still can’t get my head round it," she added alongside a cute 'mind-blown' drawing.

She continued, "It has been amazing meeting the most fabulous people and learning so much off them all, not all baking stuff but life skills like vocabulary, Greek dancing, and the benefits of peppermint tea (trust me, Freya and Crystelle used to drink every night)."

"Thanks for the support and lovely messages," Lizzie added before signing off.

How lovely!

Lizzie left the show in last night's episode [9 November] during Free-From week, which saw bakers being tested on their talents without eggs, dairy or gluten, meaning she missed out on making it to next week's semi-final.

However, it seems like Lizzie's Bake Off experience will stay with her forever - thanks to the fact that she's now got an actual tattoo dedicated to the show.

Lizzie chose to have the word 'finesse' inked, as a tribute to criticism she received from judges Paul and Prue who claimed her bakes lacked "finesse". Meanwhile, fellow contestant Freya had the 'GBBO' acronym tattooed as a reference to the competition.

We're sad to see you go, Lizzie!
