The Great British Bake Off semi-final went down last night, and fans are fuming about the end result.
Ahead of the final next week, the bakers took on patisserie week, where they were challenged with making 12 identical syrup-soaked savarins in the signature, a a Danish Cornucopia in the technical, and a cube cake showstopper.
And while some of the bakers triumphed (Dave and Peter, we're looking at you), we sadly waved goodbye to Hermine - something that fans were absolutely tamping about on Twitter.
"Nah I’m fuming, Hermine should never have gone, they hold her to a much higher standard and it’s so unfair #GBBO," one person wrote, while another added, "Tomorrow is a national day of mourning, farewell Hermine, the 2020 Bake Off Queen #GBBO #BakeOff"
Hermine actually ended up trending on Twitter because fans were so sad. "Hermine was robbed," someone else said, while another put, "Still furious about the #gbbo I now don’t care who wins and will consider #hermine the winner and await her book."

That was a horrible, horrible episode of Bakeoff. I don’t want to watch it anymore.

Was watching #gbbo2020 as some 2020 relief, then Hermine gets booted off. I can add that to the list of things I'm fuming about this year.

In her goodbye letter to the show, Hermine said, "It has been an absolute privilege to make it to the tent and to have baked alongside 11 fantastic bakers, each with their own strengths. The camaraderie was amazing.
"It was a summer full of emotions. Happy ones," she recalled. "Now back at home, I take a lot of joy in reflecting on these memories with a smile on my face and a certain warmth in my heart."
Is it too early to declare Hermine a national treasure?
