Two-time winner Travis Gienger broke the North American record for growing the largest pumpkin at the 2022 Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off in Half Moon Bay, California.

The Half Moon Bay Pumpkin King's very own gourdzilla is a rhinoceros-sized 2560-pound beast of a pumpkin that landed him the $23,040 first prize.

Gienger, from Anoka, Minnesota, beat Steve Daletas of Pleasant Hill, Oregon and his 2,424-pound pumpkin into second place, and Ruben Frias of Napa, California into third.

The weigh-off took place on 10 October ahead of this year's 50th Annual Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival, which ran between October 15-16, and featured a display of Gienger's gigantic gourd.

The event also featured pumpkin carvings, a Halloween costume contest, and a pumpkin-themed fun run.
