Food chains across the UK are always looking for ways to prioritise the environment, and sustainability is one of them. Customers, too, are conscious of their carbon footprint and how their shopping habits make an impact.

Greggs, the popular British bakery, is doing its bit for the planet with its 'Too Good To Go' bag. Foodies can purchase the bag through the 'Too Good To Go' app - but its contents are a surprise.

The bag includes food items that are nearing their sell-by date. The bag is significantly cheaper than buying the items individually and its purpose is to reduce food waste by utilising food that would otherwise be thrown away.

Taking to TikTok recently, a content creator who goes by @thebaldtiktoker and boasts 34k followers, claimed to have picked up "probably the best" 'Too Good To Go' bag - all for just £2.59.

Stationed outside his local Gregg's for the big reveal, Bald TikToker listed: two sausage rolls, a roast chicken sandwich, two cheese and bean melts, a honey roast ham and egg salad roll , and Mexican chicken baguette.

"That's pretty good for £2.59 - three sandwiches, two sausage rolls, and two cheese and bean bakes," he concluded.

Users were quick to flood the comment section with their opinions.

One wrote: "Absolutely bargain. I love a Greggs 'Too Good To Go' bag," to which the poster replied: "Yeah, probably the best one."

A second penned: "Ours was awful. We had a sausage roll, steak pie and a chicken baguette. I will not be getting another one."

A third shared: "Good value but hardly any filling anymore. It's just bread," while a fourth scribed: "Good stuff, better than chucking it."

A fifth concluded: "Used to be good but I think they're getting greedy with them."

In 2021, Too Good To Go helped us save around 800 tonnes of food, Greggs claim, and by June 2022, over one million Magic Bags were purchased from Greggs through the app.
