If You Went Through A 'Gray Divorce,' We Want To Hear Your Story
When you think of divorce, you might think of those who married young and separated young.
But currently, there is a rise in "gray divorce," which means a divorce at age 50 or older. According to a recent study, gray divorces have doubled from 1990 to 2019 and tripled for adults over age 65.
So, if you got a gray divorce, we want to hear your story. Why did you separate after age 50 and how has your life changed since then?
Maybe you stayed married until the kids were grown and out of the house...
Or maybe you didn't know you wanted a divorce until you had an empty nest and realized you had grown apart.
Maybe you always wanted to get divorced, but you just didn't go through with it until later in life.
Or maybe you found out your partner had been lying to you (about finances or infidelity) for your whole marriage and immediately wanted out.
Whatever your story is about getting a gray divorce, we want to hear it. Share why you got divorced later in life in this anonymous form or in the comments below. Your response could be featured in an upcoming BuzzFeed Community post.
