A ‘Gossip Girl’ Reunion Just Happened At A Murder Mystery-Themed Party
Gossip Girl stars Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf) and Michelle Trachtenberg (Georgina Sparks) reunited for a 1920s party, according to Trachtenberg's Instagram account.
People also reported the ladies got together and celebrated a mutual friend's bachelorette party that was murder mystery-themed.
Gossip Girl ran from 2007 to 2012 on The CW. Last month, the president of the network teased that the series might get a reboot and TBH, we're still not over it.
In the first season of Gossip Girl, Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) successfully orchestrated a plot with the help of Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) and Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) to temporarily get rid of evil genius Georgina Sparks (Michelle Trachtenberg). When Queen B successfully managed to convince Georgina's parents that they should ship her off to boot camp, it was the catalyst for their epic feud on the hit CW series.
Meester and Trachtenberg certainly convinced us how much their characters hated each other, but in real life, they're actually friends. The actresses gave us the mini Gossip Girl reunion we didn't know we wanted until we scrolled through Instagram.

Trachtenberg posted a photo with Meester serving up major face in 1920s-inspired outfits and glam. "Spotted. Ms. Waldorf and Ms. Sparks. In the ballroom. With secrets. I'll never tell. Xoxo 💋," Trachtenberg captioned the selfie.
Although the photo was cropped from the bust-up, we adored the pair's outfits from what we could see. Trachtenberg wore a black blazer and fascinator with green and blue peacock feathers. She wore her long, dark, and wavy hair down with a smouldering smokey eye.
Meester channeled Blair Waldorf's signature accessory and wore a pearl headband over her light brown, wavy hair. She wore a coral dress with white polka dots throughout that matched her lipstick.
According to People, the former co-stars linked up at a murder mystery-themed bachelorette party for a mutual friend. An image on Trachtenberg's Instagram Story showed two sets of hands on a formal dining room table. "Ms. Peacock in the dining room with the 🔪," she captioned the photo, which hinted to the party's theme and her matching hair accessory.
Although Leighton didn't post about the party to her Instagram account (she's only 'grammed five times this year), we haven't given up hope on seeing the actress with her Gossip Girl co-stars again.
Last year, The CW's president Mark Pedowitz teased the possibility of rebooting the hit teen drama. “There’s a discussion, but I don’t know if we’re there yet,” he told reporters at the Television Critics Association's (TCA) per TVLine. "I don’t know what it would be. A lot is up to Warner Bros. and Josh (Schwartz) and Steph (Stephanie Savage), ’cause you don’t want to do anything without them.”
While plans for a reunion are still TBD, we hope The CW and the original cast will finally give the fans what they deserve: a Gossip Girl reboot in 2020.
