·1-min read

Gossip Girl has long been a TV staple in the life of a teenager, so once the possibility of a reboot was announced back in 2019, we were all ears. Since the first announcement, HBO Max has released an enticing trailer and we've now gotten a glimpse into what the new cast will look like. For those of you who were hoping to watch Leighton Meester and Blake Lively reunite on screen, you may be somewhat disappointed. The series is set to be a continuation of the original Gossip Girl, with a whole new generation of Manhattan's elite discovering the site.

With a more inclusive and representative approach to casting, the series will star newcomers Savannah Smith, Thomas Doherty, Zion Moreno, and Whitney Peak, and it'll still be narrated by Kristen Bell, aka the original Gossip Girl. According to executive producer Josh Schwartz, the new series is even set to feature cameos from some of the previous cast.

Much like the majority of HBO Max shows, the series will be making its way to the United Kingdom, after airing in the United States on 8 July. Gossip Girl will premiere on BBC One at 10:35pm on 25 Aug., with all six episodes available to stream on BBC iPlayer that same day. Watch this space for further updates, and in the meantime, check out the first official trailer now.
