S4C's chief content officer, Llinos Griffin-Williams, previously revealed that they were "looking for a cast of exciting characters that truly represent a diverse modern Wales".

"Gogglebocs Cymru is set to be a gamechanger for S4C," he added. "Gogglebox is a brilliant TV format that captures the hearts and minds of a country. We want S4C to be an inclusive, exciting home for the very best of world class content that belongs to the whole nation."

Gogglebocs Cymru will also mark a first for the Gogglebox franchise, marking the first time producer Studio Lambert and Channel 4 have licensed the format to another UK-based broadcaster.

Gogglebocs Cymru airs on S4C and BBC iPlayer, while the main Gogglebox series airs on Friday nights at 9pm on Channel 4.
