GMB's Richard Madeley stuns Susanna Reid as he makes rude blunder while introducing co-star
Richard Madeley came very close to making a rude gaffe live on air on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday 15 October, causing co-host Susanna Reid to make a shocked face beside him. Richard was about to introduce presenter Andi Peters straight after a segment about the return of purple dinosaur Barney, who is returning to TV after 14 years. However, as Richard tried to aim a humorous remark at Andi, calling him a “dinosaur”, a slip of the tongue during his introduction almost led to Richard calling him something far more risque for a Tuesday morning show.
Richard said: “Speaking about dinosaurs, here’s Andi Pen-” before stopping himself and saying “Andi Peters.” Sat beside him, Susanna made a shocked face before she laughed as the camera switched to Andi live from Singapore. The 53 year old star joked about Richard’s blunder, saying to Susanna: “Your face was as shocked as mine was!”
Fans took to social media to comment on the gaffe. One wrote: “Gave me a giggle! Poor @andipeters,” while another said: “It was the look on Susanna’s face!” and a third asked: “Did Richard just say Andy Pe#is?!”

Richard has only just returned from an extended break and made his first appearance behind the Good Morning Britain desk on Monday, dividing fans of the show. Some viewers were pleased to see the return of the veteran This Morning presenter, while others were less than impressed.
One unhappy viewer declared: "Not watching." Another said: "Sorry I can't watch Madeley. I'm opting to go out and run in the dark/rain as the better option. Disappointed." A third commented: "Richard Madeley co-presenting? No thanks @GMB."

However, some fans were excited to see the 'dream team' reunited, with one writing: "I So lovely to see Richard back this week with Susanna first time in weeks. @richardm56 and @susannareid100 welcome back Richard." One fan couldn't contain their excitement, exclaiming: "So happy to see the best dream team back Richard and Susanna @susannareid100 and.@richardm56."
While Rob Rinder, Ed Balls and Martin Lewis have been filling in on GMB while Richard was away, he recently opened up about his future on the morning show, insisting he has no plans to leave his day job anytime soon. "I am very happy to stay on GMB as long as they want me. At some point I’m going to be too bloody old - I’m 68! At some stage either I will think or ITV will think maybe the time’s come. But hopefully that will be for a few years yet, because I don’t feel 68," he told The Sun.
