Gloria Hunniford has revealed her plans to get a tattoo, aged 80. What a woman.

The Northern Irish icon and broadcasting legend has opened up about her desire for an inking, and doesn't think age is a barrier.

Gloria, who presents Rip Off Britain and turns 81 in April, says although she was quite against any body modification in the past, she's now embracing it.

"[My daughter] Caron and I used to have terrible rows when she wanted her ears pierced, but I wouldn’t even let her have her ears pierced," she told The Mirror.

"And now I’m in my latter years, I would like a little butterfly or a pretty angel of some sort."

She admits while her husband Stephen thinks it's a 'silly' idea, he's supportive of her decision.

"He thinks I’m silly, but I’ll only get a tiny one," she said. "So he thinks, well, if you want to do it, do it."

That's the spirit, Gloria. If you can't get a tattoo when you're in your 80s, when can you?

Gloria was speaking to The Mirror to raise awareness of strokes. Her husband Michael had a stroke in 2012, and Gloria believes acting quickly when she recognised the symptoms of stroke saved his life.

Gloria Hunniford is supporting the Stroke Association and Public Health England FAST Campaign. You can find out more here.
