Glenn Close's oversized coat IS the moment -
Given her years playing the one and only Cruella De Vil, Glenn Close is no stranger to a fabulous statement coat, but it's her latest oversized pick which has us seriously coveting her timeless look.
Glenn was papped out and about in New York twice this week wearing a full length, double breasted coat with statement lapels. The muted tones make it perfect for matching with just about anything while the timeless cut ensures it will never go out of style, so she can wear it for years to come.
As if to demonstrate the versatility of the statement piece, Glenn treated us to two different outfit combinations and leant into tailoring on both occasions for a smart, sophisticated look.
On Wednesday (8 March) the star opted for monochrome, adding wide leg suit trousers in the same shade as the coat for a streamlined feel. But it was the accessories which really brought this outfit to life, with a pair black leather gloves and patent handbag and adding the cherry on top with a multi-stranded bead necklace and orange-rimmed shades. So chic.
The following day, Glenn was out again in her fabulous coat, and this time off-set the neutral tone with a bold, post-box red suit. She wore the matching wide leg trousers and blazer over a white t shirt and adding a stacked pair of platform heels to really dress things up.
And who said you can't wear open-toe shoes in the winter? Just take a leaf out of Glenn's book and paint your toenails to match your look - in this case red, of course.
