Glass Fire Grows to Over 61,000 Acres as Blaze Burns for Sixth Day

The Glass Fire burning in California’s Napa and Sonoma counties grew to cover more than 61,000 acres on October 2.

Short and intense runs up slopes and drainages grew the fire on a day where firefighters contended with light winds affecting the area, according to Cal Fire.

The fire was considered eight percent contained by 7 pm local time on October 2 by firefighting authorities. The same report said around 600 structures had been destroyed by the blaze so far. Credit: CAL FIRE LNU via Storyful
