GK Barry opens up about feeling "pressure" to get cosmetic surgery
Podcast host, Loose Women panelist and I'm A Celeb legend GK Barry (real name: Grace Eleanor Keeling) has shared her candid thoughts about cosmetic surgery, revealing that she's felt "pressure" to go under the knife.
Speaking to Fabulous magazine, the 25-year-old opened up about scrutiny of her appearance in the public eye and how she is conscious of the impact her aesthetic decisions may have on her followers — of which she has millions.
"I've got a young audience, so I need to set an example," she told the magazine, adding that she think's it's "important" to tell fans she has no plans to get "work done".
"I want people to see someone in this industry who looks how they've always looked," the social media star — who recently made a surprise appearance in Netflix's Missing You series — continued. "I've felt pressure to get stuff done, especially comments about my nose."
Elaborating on that, GK went on: "But surgery should be because you want it, not because of other people's opinions." Hard agree!
Grace's comments come just weeks after she told Cosmopolitan UK that her time in the jungle helped her to accept her authentic self. During the exclusive interview, she also touched upon her fears about going bare-faced in front of the nation.
"I was really anxious to go [in the jungle] with my skin, because I had such bad [acne flare ups]," she recalled. "I thought everyone on the internet was going to be really horrible about it. But I came out and everyone was fine."
