Gino D’Acampo has confessed he is worried the act of kissing is being lost as the world adjusts to the coronavirus pandemic.

As the 45-year-old Italian TV chef returned to the This Morning studio after a nine-month absence, he admitted he was disappointed not to be able to kiss presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield due to social distancing regulations.

D’Acampo revealed: "My grandfather said to me, 'Two things you need to learn in life. Number one is how to kiss a woman. Number two is how to make tiramisu.'"

Willoughby quickly replied: "Well, you're teaching us one of those things today and thank God it's tiramisu!"

D'Acampo replied: "Do you want to do the kissing? I'm very happy to do it. With both of you by the way. I'm very happy to do it."

Willoughby told him: "Unfortunately the rules won't allow. It's too close... Tiramisu is just fine."

Schofield added: "Got to be two metres still."

D'ACampo remarked: "I think the kissing is something that we're kind of losing. I've tried also to kiss the [mirror]. Have you ever tried to look at your face when you kiss? No? Well how do you know what your face looks like?"

His co-stars joked that he had been spending too much time alone.
