If you were to ask us what two of our favourite things are, we’d almost definitely say gin and Easter eggs. Of course, the second one is seasonal, so if you asked us in December, we might say yule logs, but you get the point: we like booze and chocolate…

So, when we heard the news that a gin that tastes like Easter eggs exists, we nearly lost it.

Salcombe’s Easterly gin is a brand-new, special edition gin that has been carefully handcrafted to evoke the nostalgic smells and tastes of an Easter egg hunt.

The dream!

Salcombe describes the gin as being “smooth and indulgent” and having “tangy citrus notes on the nose, followed by hints or rich vanilla, sweet cherries and a smooth chocolatey finish from organic cacao nibs.”

This gin would, of course, be delicious simply as a G&T with a garnish of burnt orange peel. Or, if you fancy taking your gin up a gear why not use Easterly in a Martini. You won’t regret it.

Because Easterly is a special edition gin, it won’t be around forever, so if you want to get in on this Easter egg gin action, you’ll have to get a wriggle on.

Salcombe’s Easterly gin (42% ABV) is available from from Friday 5th March on Salcombe's website, and it will set you back £37.50 for a 70cl bottle.
