If you enjoyed watching Gillian Anderson as Margaret Thatcher in The Crown Season 4, then you're going to love the behind-the-scenes photos that she just shared on Instagram.

In honour of her co-star Olivia Colman's birthday, Anderson shared three pictures on social media. Colman, of course, played the queen in seasons three and four of The Crown. In the first picture, Colman and Anderson pose for an unflattering selfie. In the second, the pair has lunch in a trailer. In the third, Colman sits alone while pulling a funny face.

"Happy birthday Queenie 馃巶," the Hannibal actress captioned the post. While Thatcher and the queen were at odds in real life, Anderson and Colman appear to have a solid, and very sweet, friendship.

This isn't the first time that The Crown's cast members have shared brilliant behind-the-scenes snaps. Emma Corrin, who played Princess Diana in season four, shared a plethora of incredible photos on Instagram in November 2020, and wrote, "SEASON 4 BTS MIXTAPE 馃挮 volume up pls especially for no2....can they handle it?!?!!! @joshographee @pollyannabennett."

In an interview with BAZAAR.com to promote the premiere of season four, Anderson revealed, "Olivia [Colman] is delightful and a fantastic scene partner. She is funny and generous and a lot of fun and a fantastic actress. There were very long days that were broken up with a great deal of laughter and silliness."

Anderson also addressed the wigs she had to wear to portray Thatcher on-screen. "I think in the end, there were two wigs, one that represented the first half of her episodes and one that represented the second half, and then there were doubles and triples of those," she revealed. "I don't think many were destroyed in the process. No wigs were harmed."
