I’ve been loving the fun that Gigi Hadid is having with her beauty looks lately. At the beginning of this year, she ditched her signature blonde hair and went for the biggest hair colour trend of 2021: fiery copper red. Even better? She was inspired by Netflix hit The Queen’s Gambit, showing even the influential get influenced.

She has also dabbled in overlined lips, tried XXL mermaid curls and even stripped it all back, refreshingly sharing no makeup selfies with fans on social media.

So, I had high hopes that Gigi would really throw herself into a fun look for this year’s Met Gala – and she sure delivered.

Ditching her signature blonde once again, Gigi stepped onto the Met Gala red carpet with fiery red hair, which was done by colourist Keith Shore. Her hairstylist Esther Langham then took her incredible new auburn hair and scraped it back into a volumized updo, serving pure Jessica Rabbit pin-up vibes.

And can we just take a moment for all that volume? Even my Bump-It hair accessories in the 00s didn’t achieve such greatness…

To finish the look, Esther added a chic Prada hair pin to match Gigi’s diamond jewellery.

Her hair popped even more against the contrast of her cornflower blue eyeshadow and intense double-winged black eyeliner, drawn on by makeup artist Erin Parsons.

A favourite look of the night, hands down.
