This afternoon, Gigi Hadid made her catwalk comeback, walking for Versace's autumn/winter 2021 show, marking the American supermodel's first show appearance since giving birth to her baby girl.

Hadid opened the show wearing a low-cut black corset with a tailored skirt suit, tights, chunky boots and some statement blue eyeshadow – and closed it wearing a long, black, sheer dress. She, alongside the other models (which included her sister Bella Hadid), also posed in a 3D maze after taking a turn on the catwalk.

Hadid gave birth to her first child last September, a baby girl named Khai, whom she shares with longtime love Zayn Malik.

The model was last seen on the catwalk during the Paris shows this time a year ago, when she was already pregnant, something which she later revealed to fans.

This show marks Versace's first appearance off the official Milan Fashion Week timetable, which wrapped earlier this week, with the brand choosing to present its latest collection on its own schedule.

"Being a digital event has its advantages," Donatella Versace told WWD when the news was announced. "One of them is the possibility of connecting with your audience whenever you think is the right moment."

The chief creative officer added that Versace's relationship with the Milan Fashion Week body remains solid and will not be impacted by this decision.

"The decision to present the fall 2021 collection a few days after the Milan Fashion Week doesn’t affect the fact that Versace remains a proud member of Camera della Moda and that the brand will always be a key player and a big supporter of the Italian fashion system. Fashion is an art and sometimes it has to work outside the usual path to fully blossom."
