Gigi Hadid is giving fans a rare peek into her life while expecting.

Today, the model spoke on social media to promote the second instalment of her V Magazine Gigi Journal and opened up about her pregnancy and how she's navigated it while in the public eye. When fans wrote into the Instagram Live session asking Hadid about how she was feeling, she assured them that all is well and also addressed recent comments regarding the state of her growing belly. Hadid also explained that because of the nature of the world right now—in the midst of a global pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement—flaunting her pregnancy would be inappropriate.

"I'm so grateful for the positive comments and the questions, and wanting just to know that we're all good and safe, and everything's going great and I love you guys. I do appreciate those positive comments," said Hadid during the session. "Obviously, I think a lot of people are confused why I'm not sharing more, but, like, I'm pregnant through a pandemic, like, obviously, my pregnancy is not the most important thing going on in the world."

She continued, "That's a reason that I felt that it's not really something that I need to share apart from with my family and friends. Obviously, a lot of people have lost lives due to coronavirus, that was in the beginning of quarantine and still happening. And then we moved, obviously, into the reemergence of the BLM movement, and I thought that our presence on social media should be used for that."

Hadid also addressed criticism claiming that the model may be "missing out" on sharing special moments during her pregnancy by choosing to be so private. The model assured, however, that she's been sharing photos with close friends and family, and that eventually in the future, she'll share with fans and the world as well. Hadid did strike a pose, though, during her session, sharing a glimpse at her bump, proving that at times, her stomach does appear smaller or bigger depending on the angle.

"I have been taking a lot of pictures of my bump and sending it to friends and family, and it's been really cute and exciting," she said. "I'm trying to document it well, because I've heard a lot of people say, obviously, 'Make sure you don't miss it.'

"And I will be sharing stuff like that in the future. I just am not rushed to do it, and I feel like right now I just want to experience it," she continued. "I just don't want to worry about waking up every day during my pregnancy and worry about having to look cute or post something. A lot of your questions are about that, and I just wanted to do that."
