We all know the ’90s are back. And now, jelly sandals are officially runway-worthy! Italian designer Alberta Ferretti debuted some ’90s-tastic shoes during Milan Fashion Week. Many models, including Gigi and Bella Hadid, as well as Karlie Kloss and Joan Smalls, wore black plastic jellies dotted with silver studs on the runway. Ferretti paired the shoes with black one-piece swimsuits and some easy, shiny anoraks. The shoes create a super chill look while giving us some serious nostalgia vibes. Which was an intentional move from Ferreti:

“I felt this was an important moment to look back at the past and to think about what I want for the present,” she told Vogue.

Take a look at the shoes on the runway.

Fashion designers love to take past fashion trends and rework them for their future designs. It seems like bell bottoms could also be making a comeback. And chokers have already have reappeared in fashion. So why not reinvent arguably the most iconic shoes of the ’90s? This way, we won’t have to rummage through our closets for shoes from twenty years ago.

The real question is, are these jelly sandals any comfier than their ’90s counterparts? Inquiring minds want to know.

Will jelly shoes make an appearance next summer? Only time will tell, but we wouldn’t mind getting our ’90s on again. These shoes usually come in many colors, making them easy to match with any summer look. As long as they don’t cause serious blisters while wearing them out and about and on the beach, we’re definitely team jelly sandals. Is it next summer yet?
