Ghislaine Maxwell has been accused of seeking job candidates who can answer phones “during school holidays” in historic newspaper ads. According to The Daily Mail, details of three job posts reportedly placed in the Palm Beach Daily News and Palm Beach Post were revealed ahead of this week's New York trial for her alleged involvement in Jeffrey Epstein’s sex crimes between 1994 and 2004.

The newspaper claims adverts dating back to January 1997 featured a phone number for “Miss Maxwell” which reportedly matches the one she gave to US police for a driving offence “around the same time”.

According to the publication, one alleged Palm Beach Post advert from January 4threads: “Person needed for answering phone & light cleaning during School Holidays. Call Miss Maxwell, 655-3704.” It's believed the work was for Epstein's Florida home, which the publications claims she shared with him at the time.

Reports claim that Maxwell was in charge of staffing Epstein's many homes around the globe (from Paris to New York, and Palm Beach in Florida, where this ad is said to have been targeted). Details given by alleged victims in the documentary Epstein: Filthy Rich reveal that many of them were brought in under the guise of giving Epstein massages. Other women recount seeing girls brought to the house for apparent “Victoria’s Secret auditions,” the documentary reveals.

One woman due to testify in the case against Maxwell is Annie Farmer. Annie claims she was sexually abused by Epstein as a 16-year-old girl - one year before the newly-released job adverts were allegedly published in Palm Beach.

She accuses Maxwell of being complicit in Epstein’s crimes and in July 2020, 59-year-old Maxwell was charged with facilitating the sexual abuse of underaged girls by the billionaire financier.

During Maxwell’s first court hearing back in July 2020, Annie is reported to have said: "[Maxwell] is a sexual predator who groomed and abused me and countless other young women. She has lied under oath and tormented her survivors... [she] has never shown any remorse for her heinous crimes."

Unlike Epstein, Maxwell will stand trial at the Manhattan federal court where she is currently being held. Epstein was found dead in his jail cell while he waited for his own trial in 2019.

The full list of charges, for which Maxwell has pleaded not guilty on all counts, includes:

  • Enticing minors to travel to engage in illegal sex acts,

  • Enticing minor to travel for illegal sex acts

  • Conspiracy to transport minors with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity

  • Transport of minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity

  • Two counts of perjury
