We’ve all been honing our baking skills during lockdown, and bread makers have been in high demand since March last year. If you struggled to get hold of one during the first or second lockdown, we’ve got some good news. The top-performing models from our best bread makers roundup are back in stock and there’s a great 35% discount on the runner-up on Amazon.
The Morphy Richards Homebake scored an impressive 88/100, just one mark less than the overall winner. Excitingly, though, it’s also £165 cheaper, so it’s a great bargain if you’ve been thinking about investing.
The Good Housekeeping Institute testers described Morphy Richards’ most high-end bread maker as a joy to use. They liked how it has 14 different settings, including a gluten-free option and modes for non-bread recipes, like cakes, yoghurt and jam.
On test, it made a near-perfect wholemeal loaf that was light and springy with a crisp crust and an authentic farmhouse flavour. The white bread was also good, although it fared better when using the small setting than the larger one. Our testers loved that the bread pan automatically unlocks when baking has finished, the responsive touchscreen and that it offers a choice of crusts (light, medium and dark).
There wasn’t much the team disliked, really. If you’re putting nuts or seeds in your loaf, it’s worth noting that this doesn’t have an ingredient dispenser, which our winner does, but it’ll notify you when it’s time to add extra ingredients, so this shouldn’t be a dealbreaker.
Overall, it’s a top-performing bread maker that delivers excellent results. If you’ve been wanting to make fresh bread at home while you’re less able to go to the bakery, this is a great deal worth taking advantage of while it lasts.
Grab this breadmaker deal on Amazon before they go out of stock again.
