Gavin & Stacey's Rob Wilfort's sweet hidden tribute to show as he appears on Lorraine with a piece of 'TV history'
Rob Wilfort, best known for his role as Jason West in BBC's Gavin & Stacey appeared on Lorraine on Monday, January 13 and gave a sweet tribute to the show as he spoke about the last ever episode of the series which aired on Christmas day. The finale became the UK’s most-watched scripted show across all broadcasters and streamers since current records began in 2002, with ratings already at 19.3 million according to the latest data.
Speaking about the show's successes, Rob, who was on the show to plug a charity raffle in which ticket buyers can buy a signed copy of the finale script, spoke fondly of the series on Lorraine and when asked if he had stolen anything from set to keep as a memento he shared that the shirt he was wearing for the interview was also the one which he wore at Nessa and Smithy's wedding in the last episode.
"Viewers might recognise this shirt", Rob noted, to which Lorraine replied: "I thought I recognised that shirt!" Rob added: "I think I wore this at Ness and Smithy's wedding and probably the last special before." For the latest TV & Showbiz news, sign up to our newsletter

While the special marked the end of the series, people's love for the characters and the stories continues. Lorraine emphasised earlier in the interview: "We don't want it to end, we don't. And I've been thinking, could we do a separate drama on the fishing trip? Could we?"
Rob replied with a smile: "I mean we could. But you never find out, that's the whole joke Lorraine. You never find out."
Speaking about his memories filming, Rob said: "There were lots of tears on that final episode. We all realised it was something really special to be involved in it that length of time. Just everyone seems to love the show. It's just a joy to be a part of."
But the Gavin and Stacey excitement didn't stop at the final episode as fans have been bidding to win Jason West aka Robert Wilfort’s original signed finale script in a charity raffle which was due to end at 10.30am this morning, before the website crashed once more due to a rush for tickets. Rob enthused about this on Lorraine, who dubbed it a 'piece of TV history', as the money raised will go be going to to The Theatre Shed, a Chesham- and Amersham-based charity which is an inclusive group that gives everyone a chance to have access to the performing arts.
"Young people just get so much from the arts. Everything's fighting for money now, and these guys are struggling so much," said Rob, who revealed that the raffle has so far raised £46,000. Find out how to buy a raffle ticket, here.
