Gavin & Stacey's Gwen star Melanie Walters breaks silence on Dave Coaches spin-off rumours
As Gavin & Stacey came to an emotional end last month, Gwen who's played by actress, Melanie Walters has spoken out on whether fans could see her co-star alongside another cast member in their own spin-off show.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Off The Telly podcast, Melanie Walters, who plays fan favourite Gwen on Gavin & Stacey, was quizzed by host Natalie Cassidy about the possibility of her own show: "If someone said to you we're going to make Gwen and Dave's 'In the house', would you do it?"
Melanie kept fans guessing with her response as she simply went "I don't know, I don't know."
While Melanie's character spent much of her time on the show caring for others, it wasn't until the series finale that we finally saw her take time for herself and put her love life first, becoming romantically involved with Dave Coaches, played by Steffan Rhodri.

While Melanie seemed to give little away when it came to potentially starring in her own spin-off with her on-screen lover, she claimed that another member of the cast would have been more than happy to see a reprisal of Gavin & Stacey despite the finale airing last month.
Joanne, who co-hosts the Off the Telly podcast alongside EastEnders star Natalie, said: "Anytime anybody asks Larry (Lamb, who plays Gavin's dad Mick Shipman) though, he always goes 'yes, of course!' "
After it first hit our TV screens in May 2007, the sitcom saw instant success with positive ratings and quickly building a strong fanbase. Such was it's popularity, the show would return a year later before another and final series would follow soon after that.
Gavin & Stacey came to an emotional end last month as writers and co-stars James Corden and Ruth Jones, called time on the much-loved BBC sitcom in a much-anticipated special Christmas finale .
Speaking about the final day of filming, Corden told Graham Norton how one cast member became particularly emotional towards the end: “Everyone was there at the end with lots of crying. Joanna who plays Stacey pretty much cried every day. There were lots of goodbyes. It was very emotional.”
