Game of Thrones fans will have to adapt to life without new series of the hit show, however we do have one very exciting prequel to look forward to.

Various Game of Thrones prequels are reportedly in the works and details of one currently untitled project are starting to emerge.

Game of Thrones prequel: What's it about?

It’s been announced that Naomi Watts and Poldark star Josh Whitehouse will appear in a pilot episode set thousands of years pre-Thrones.

Details are scarce at the minute but we know the prequel will follow the world’s descent from the golden age to the carnage we’ve been used to seeing in Westeros.

Watts will star as “a charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret” and she’ll be joined by Josh Whitehouse, known for playing Demelza's former love interest Hugh Armitage in BBC One’s Poldark.
