Friends fans may be disappointed by news that there's unlikely to be another reunion special some point in the future. At least, according to Monica Geller star Courteney Cox there won't.

"I don't feel like I have closure on it… [but] we're not gonna do another reunion," Cox told Faith Hill for Variety's Actors on Actors series. "Can you imagine? We'll be like: 'We're 80! Let's go back in!'"

Towards the end of 2021, we saw the entire cast of Friends (Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer) get together for a reunion special in the same studio they used to film the show in. The whole set was reconstructed just for them, and it made for a very emotional celebration of a show the entire world has loved for generations now.

"It was incredible, Cox said of the experience. "I'm really close with everyone, but we don't all see each other, and we had not all gotten in the same room since the actual show.

"The girls see each other a lot, and we see each other separately, but walking on stage at the Warner Bros studios was the most emotional thing, I just immediately burst into tears."

She also revealed that working together with the cast for so long brought them closer together because they went through some of the biggest highs and lows of life together.

"I mean, so many things had happened, so many years of being together. You name it, we'd gone through it," she added.

"I don't want closure from this place [the Friends experience]. So I don't have closure, but I just feel like it was the luckiest… I can't believe that I got that part and that I was able to make those friends and be a part of something that is still going on."

Friends streams on Netflix in the UK, where it also airs daily on Comedy Central. In the US, you can stream the show, and the reunion special, on HBO Max.
