Bad news for Friends fans, as the filming of the highly-anticipated reunion has been pushed back to next March.

Matthew Perry, who is known for playing Chandler Bing in the cult TV show, tweeted to confirm the news.

"Friends reunion being rescheduled for the beginning of March,” he wrote. “Looks like we have a busy year coming up. And that’s the way I like it!”

The one-off reunion was set to start filming in August, but as with many events and projects this year, was delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

It will see the original cast of Perry, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer come together again, more than 16 years after the final Friends episode aired.

The popular show followed the lives of six friends who lived in New York, and ran between 1994 and 2004.

The reunion will air on HBO Max’s streaming service with a confirmed date yet to be announced.

Jennifer Aniston staged a mini Friends reunion in September for the Emmys. After completing her Emmys presenting duties, the actress invited a few famous friends over. As she talked to show host Jimmy Kimmel from her home, Cox came into view.

"Oh, Courtney's there?" he asked.

"Of course, I'm here, we live together," replied Cox. "Yeah we've been roommates since 1994 Jimmy, hello?" added Aniston, referring to the date Friends first aired.

Lisa Kudrow then entered the frame, and the show's female line-up was complete.
