'Forgotten stars' of Gavin & Stacey – and where they are now
When it comes to festive viewing, it's fair to say everyone is looking forward to Gavin & Stacey.
The beloved sitcom is returning for the final ever episode on Christmas Day, and it's gone viral again over the weekend as the first trailer was officially released. Social media has been full of people expressing their excitment for the episode after the teaser was shown on the finale of Strictly Come Dancing.
Now the UK is even more excited to see Gavin, Stacey, Smithy, Nessa and the rest of the gang back on the Island again. But there are a few faces that we haven't seen for some time.
If, like many people, you've been taking a trip down memory lane by going back to the start and re-watching all the episodes, you may have wondered what happened to some actors who appeared in the show right at the start.
Now, you don't have to let it ponder your mind, as we've done the work for you. Here's what happened to some of the "forgotten" stars of Gavin & Stacey.

Father Chris
Father Chris was played by William Thomas who has appeared in various shows over the years. His character is perhaps most remembered for getting a little tense with Gavin when he couldn't decide what his favourite sandwich was during a church service.
The scene left people in hysterics, and still does to this day. Since appearing in the show in 2010, he's also starred in Alys, Steeltown Murders and, more recently, Lost Boys and Fairies.
Ted
Ted was played by actor Anthony O'Donnell. In the show, he was occasionally seen as a family friend of the Wests', and he also had a soft spot for Gwen's neighbour, Doris. You'll probably remember him trying to dance with her at Gwen's iconic birthday barn dance.
Since his stint in Gavin & Stacey, O'Donnell has appeared in The Sarah Jayne Adventures, Stella, Skyfall and Being Human. He also starred in A Very English Scandal in 2018.
Deano
Gavin and Smithy's beloved friend Deano was adored for his passion to learn Welsh for a visit to Barry, and his total lack of common sense. Played by actor Mathew Baynton, the character offered some classic comedic lines when he cropped up in the show.
Since appearing in the show between 2008 and 2009, Mathew has gone onto have a varied career. Not long after heading to the island, he secured roles in the likes of Doc Martin and Peep Show.
More recently, he's also starred in hit shows like BBC's The Split and Ghosts. He's even popped up in Death in Paradise too.
Fingers
Fingers was another pal of Smithy and Gavin, and he was known for being flirty and fun. At Gavin & Stacey's wedding, you may remember he ended up having a brief fling with Stacey's friend, Louise.
The role was played by actor Samuel Anderson, who also starred in Emmerdale around the same time. Since then, he's appeared in popular favourites such as Casualty, Doctor Who, Trollied and Red Rose.
Louise
Next up is Louise who was played by Ffion Williams. After her stint in the hit sitcom, Ffion went into producing. According to her Twitter profile, she now works for Fiction Factory Films.
Owain Hughes
It is perhaps the one joke that people want the answer to more than anything. "I'm Owain Hughes", "And do you?", "No, I don't."
The character only had a brief appearance in series three, but people loved his inclusion nonetheless. Played by Steven Meo, Owain quickly became talked about by all fans of the show.
Since making an appearance in Gavin & Stacey, Steven has gone onto have a number of acting roles. Some notable shows he's been in include Doctors, Coronation Street and Father Brown.
