The Foo Fighters have pulled out of a gig following Dave Grohl's recent revelation that he fathered a child outside his marriage. The band took to Instagram to announce they won't be performing at the Soundside Music Festival in Bridgeport, Connecticut. In their statement, they said: "FOO FIGHTERS WILL NO LONGER BE APPEARING AT THIS WEEKEND'S SOUNDSIDE MUSIC FESTIVAL. PLEASE CHECK THE FESTIVAL WEBSITE FOR MORE INFORMATION (sic)". No specific reason was given for the cancellation.

Earlier this month, Dave confirmed he had a baby with someone other than his wife. The 55 year old musician pledged to "regain" his family's trust after sharing the news on social media.

Dave, who has been married to Jordyn Blum since 2003, wrote on Instagram: "I've recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We're grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together."

The Foo Fighters frontman has three daughters - Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, ten - with Jordyn, and Dave previously admitted that they've greatly influenced him and his songwriting.

Dave, who was hitched to Jennifer Youngblood from 1994 to 1997, opened up to TIME magazine in 2012 about how fatherhood has transformed his life: "It's changed everything that I do. When you have kids, you see life through different eyes."
