Robens Cesar, 41, is facing a first-degree murder charge in the shooting death of 34-year-old Fridelene Daniel
Police say a Florida man killed his ex-girlfriend after she filed a police report against him.
Daniel was killed outside her apartment complex just before 9 a.m. Wednesday, less than an hour after she filed a harassment report against Cesar at the Boynton Beach Police Department, according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
Police found Daniel dead at the scene, WPTV reported. Cesar’s black Honda was seen leaving the scene, CBS12 reported.
Cesar allegedly confessed to the police saying that he and Daniel had split up and he wanted to get back together with her but she refused, according to the affidavit cited by the Sun Sentinel and WPTV.
He allegedly told police that Daniel reporting him was the “final straw,” according to the affidavit.
The Boynton Police Department authorized an internal investigation into the incident.
“The loss of any life is a tragic event, and the Boynton Beach Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased,” according to a police press release, CBS12 reported. "Our hearts go out to all affected by this unfortunate incident.”
