Holidays are one of the most sacred times of the year, a time to relax, unwind and imbibe new and exciting cultures, local delicacies and breathtaking scenery.

But would you let your child book your holiday? Decide where you go? Even create the itinerary?

Well, if the answer isn't 'no way', you might be interested in Flight Centre's new 'Kids in Charge' campaign, a new (slightly daunting) idea that sees role reversal with children in the booking seat.

Those brave enough can let their children work with Flight Centre consultants to create a tailor-made family holiday, based entirely on the children's ideas and imaginations (within reason).

To celebrate the new launch, any family that visits a Flight Centre store throughout December (up until the 24th), and books one of these tailor-made holidays for 2019 will be rewarded with a consolation voucher for £250 off their booking.

Parents can then sit back, put their feet up and know that their holiday will keep their children entertained... so they say.

It turns out that the majority of parents (three out of four) say that their holiday decision-making is more difficult since having children, and almost half of parents' everyday decisions are actually based around their children.

In fact, 33 percent of us worry about keeping our kids entertained on holiday, with research by the Flight Centre revealing it can take over a month to book a holiday as a family.

'Family holidays are where memories are made, but with parents finding decision-making more difficult and revolving so many choices around their kids on a daily basis, we want to bring the fun and spontaneity back to holidays,' said head of marketing at Flight Centre, Yvonne Hobden.

'Our team have been blown away by the kind and imaginative ideas kids have come up with, from their own weird and wacky dream holidays to wanting to reward their parents and spend quality time together.'
