Marry Me, an unconventional rom-com starring singer and actress Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson has released its first trailer.

Coming to cinemas next year, the film marks JLo's return to the romantic genre after big hits like The Wedding Planner and Maid in Manhattan.

Marry Me is the story of the unlikely romance between two strangers – international singer Kat Valdez (Lopez) and high-school math teacher Charlie Gilbert (Wilson) – who agree to get married and then get to know each other.

When Kat discovers her fiancé Bastian (Colombian pop star Maluma) has cheated on her ahead of their very public wedding ceremony, she does something unexpected. The protagonist simply picks a fan from the crowd to become her lawfully wedded husband.

Not exactly a fan, divorced dad of one Charlie attended Kat's concert with his daughter Lou (Big Little Lies actress Chloe Coleman) and his best friend, played by comedian Sarah Silverman.

Despite the shock of being chosen among hundreds of concertgoers, he doesn't chicken out and decides to go through with the wedding vows.

Kat's impulsive reaction to Bastian's infidelity evolves into an unexpected romance with Charlie, who struggles to fit in with his new wife's life. As forces conspire to separate them, the film reflects on whether two people from such different worlds can find a place to be their true selves, together.

Featuring original songs from Lopez and Maluma, the film also stars Game of Thrones alum John Bradley, Michelle Buteau and Brady Noon, as well as a few celebrity cameos, including Jimmy Fallon.

Marry Me will be released in UK cinemas from February 11, 2022.
