Last Night in Soho's first trailer has finally arrived to reveal what Edgar Wright has got in store for us in his first movie since Baby Driver.

The Queen's Gambit's Anya Taylor-Joy, Doctor Who's Matt Smith and Shadow & Bone's Jessie Mei Lei star in the new psychological thriller about a young girl who is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s.

Based on the first trailer (which is backed by Taylor-Joy's cover of 'Downtown'), things are about to get trippy, weird and possibly a bit scary for us, and for the characters involved.

The young girl (played by Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie) is passionate in fashion design and in her trips to the 1960s, she encounters her idol, dazzling wannabe singer Lara (Taylor-Joy).

However, 1960s London is now what it appears and time seems to fall apart with shady consequences for Eloise.

The film also stars acting veteran Terence Stamp, James and Oliver Phelps – best known for playing the Weasley twins in the Harry Potter films – and the late Dame Diana Rigg in her final role before her death in September 2020 at the age of 82.

Wright previously shared a beautiful tribute to Rigg after they worked together on Last Night in Soho.

"After the shoot, this led to some cherished Campari-fuelled Sunday brunches in her favourite South Kensington spots where we talked about the state of the world, the business as it is now, and all of her stories in-between," he said.

"She was such a wickedly funny raconteur, and though we gossiped a lot, I feel like I only heard five percent of her tales."

Last Night in Soho is out in US cinemas on October 22 and UK cinemas on October 29.
