First teaser for Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler's Murder Mystery 2
Murder Mystery 2 has officially released its first trailer for the sequel to Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler's hit Netflix comedy.
Posted to Netflix's social media accounts, the jovial teaser features Aniston and Sandler returning as couple Audrey and Nick Spitz. The Spitzes speak to somebody on a high-tech phone while the robotic voice says that the full trailer for the movie is being "held hostage."
Audrey and Nick keep interrupting the voice, who struggles to speak. In the end, the voice said that the full trailer would be released tomorrow — on Monday. "MURDER MYSTERY 2 trailer tomorrow," was the caption on Netflix's Instagram post.
The trailer also features the back-and-forth between Aniston and Sandler that made the first movie such a hit with Netflix viewers. Also in the mix is Mark Strong's new character, although the specifics of his role are unknown.
"Have you done a hostage negotiation?" Strong's character asks. "I'm married to this lady. Everything is a negotiation," Sandler's Nick replies.
The scene is intercut with plenty of moments of action, including Nick shooting dual pistols and people falling into open water — letting fans know they are in for the same sort of humour and action that was found in the first film.
Netflix gave fans a first look at the film last week with pictures of Aniston and Sandler in character. The release date was also confirmed last week — the movie will drop on Netflix on March 31.
