Tom Hardy's new Netflix movie Havoc has unveiled a gritty first look. The upcoming film focuses on a bruised detective as he attempts to rescue a politician's son, while also unravelling a web of corruption in his own city.

Going by the first pictures, Havoc is set to be an action-packed ride, with a bloodied Hardy wearing a police vest and shooting through a car windscreen.

As well as Hardy, the movie is set to star The Mandalorian's Timothy Olyphant, Shadow and Bone's Jessie Mei Li, Oscar-winner Forest Whitaker, Training Day's Justin Cornwell, Code Black's Luis Guzmań, Yeo Yann Yann, Quelin Sepulveda, Sunny Pang and Michelle Waterson.

Havoc comes from Gangs of London co-creator Gareth Evans, who writes and directs, and also produces alongside Hardy.

In other Hardy-related news, the star's BBC TV series Taboo was recently given a hopeful update after six years off air.

Producer Dean Baker explained that the team have officially started work on the second series, and that it shouldn't be long before it returns to screens.

"Currently we are working on a second season of Taboo, and hopefully we will get to explore more Dickens [like Great Expectations] with Steve, Ridley and Tom," Baker told Radio Times.

The series is co-created by Hardy, his father Chips and Peaky Blinders' Steven Knight and focuses on industrialist James Delaney (Hardy) as he battles with the East India Company in 19th-century London.

Havoc is set to premiere on Netflix this year, with a precise release date yet to be confirmed.
