The moment has finally arrived: The Batman has given us our very first glimpse of Robert Pattinson as The Dark Knight.

Director Matt Reeves took to Twitter on Thursday (February 13) to share some appropriately dark test footage of the actor wearing the Batsuit, which has a serious Arkham Knight vibe to it.

Although you can't see a great deal of detail, the clip is thankfully long enough to give us a proper look at the DC superhero, awesome chest plate and all.

The metallic and agile-looking design to the suit certainly seems to suggest that Pattinson's Batman will be one very much in his prime, with more than a few gadgets stashed away in his utility belt.

The shape of the cowl looks a little peculiar, but it's probably unfair to pass judgement when we can't even see his bat ears.

Pattinson will be joined by a ridiculously star-studded cast, which so far includes Zoe Kravitz, Andy Serkis, Paul Dano, Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro and Peter Sarsgaard.

Reeves announced towards the end of January that filming had officially begun on The Batman, so maybe we'll get a few more sneak peeks before the first trailer is released.
