Ever since he was appointed as the new chief creative officer of Burberry, there has been plenty of anticipation into what direction Riccardo Tisci will take the fashion house. And now, we have our first sneak peek at what the brand may soon look like.

Taking to Instagram this weekend, Tisci shared images from the 'B Classic' collection, which is an edit he curated to honour the icons of the house. Although he did not design any of the pieces (they were created by the brand's in-house design team), Tisci put together an edit of some of Burberry's most iconic designs, taken from the pre-spring/summer 2019 collection.

"I wanted to celebrate the beauty, heritage and legacy that I discovered when I first arrived at Burberry," he said. "‘B Classic' is an edit that I've curated to honour the icons of the House – pieces like the trench coat, the quilted jacket, the car coat, the kilt – which sits at the heart of the SS19 pre collection designed by the fantastic Burberry design team."

The edit is a clear nod to the brand's heritage and the pieces that Burberry is most well-known for including the trench coat and the signature heritage check print, as well as kilts and plenty of quilted outerwear.

Could this edit mean that Tisci is going to stick to the more traditional elements of the house when he designs his first pieces for the brand? It could do, however, we will have to wait until September to fully understand the Italian designer's vision for the brand when he presents his very first collection.
