Pass the eggnog and a tray of Ferrero Rocher... Kristen Stewart's romantic comedy Happiest Season is nearly here!
Happiest Season centres on a young woman who plans to propose to her girlfriend while at her family's annual holiday party. But that plan is upended when she discovers her partner hasn’t yet come out to her conservative parents.
The rom-com will be American Horror Story actress Clea DuVall's directorial debut, and the star has also co-written the script with actress and comedian Mary Holland. The film will star Kristen Stewart as Abby and Mackenzie Davis as Harper, her girlfriend, who she's trying to propose to. Alison Brie will play Sloane, as well as Aubrey Plaza as Riley and Dan Levy as John.
Incredible storyline, incredible cast. And, what's more? People have just given us our first look at the cast in action, sharing a glimpse at the couple on an iceskating date.
Speaking about the film, director Clea DuVall explained, "I'm a huge fan of Christmas movies, but I had never seen my story represented. Happiest Season felt like a great opportunity to tell a universal story from a new perspective."
Twilight's K-Stew agrees, continuing, "I think I've wished to see a gay Christmas rom com my whole life. I'm so happy and proud of Clea for bringing this into the world. I love when holiday movie makes you long for an idea of home, but also examines how hilarious and hard reality at home can be sometimes."
Happiest Season is due in UK cinemas on 27 November 2020. We can't wait!
