Although we've only got a trailer to go off, already Timothée Chalamet and Steve Carrell's forthcoming film feels like a hit in the making.

The pair, who recently earned best actor Oscar nominations for their performances in Call Me By Your Name and Foxcatcher respectively, will play father and son in Beautiful Boy, to be released by Amazon Studios.

According to the synopsis, the film chronicles meth addiction and recovery through the eyes of a father David (Steve Carell) who watches his son Nic (Timothée Chalamet) as he struggles with the drug. The Affair actress Maura Tierney and Amy Ryan will also co-star

According to Deadline, "The film is based on the "best-selling pair of memoirs from father and son David and Nic Sheff which chronicles the heartbreaking and inspiring experience of survival, relapse, and recovery in a family coping with meth addiction over many years."
