From Good Housekeeping

She’s played the smart, conniving MI6 boss Carolyn Martens for three seasons in Killing Eve - but there’s one character Fiona Shaw would love to play… and it’s not who you might expect.

While most people might fancy a turn as Jodie Comer’s sassy cold-blooded assassin Villanelle or Sandra Oh’s captivating Eve, Fiona revealed to Good Housekeeping she’d most like to play another of the show’s characters - and it's Villanelle’s former handler Konstantin (played by Kim Bodnia).

“The obvious would be to say you want to play Villanelle, but I don’t, really," she says. "I’d like to play Konstantin. I really like him.

"It’s maybe something to do with our age group, but I love people who’ve lived raggy, mad lives and who are still going strong. The wonderful thing about Konstantin is that he doesn’t really mind where he sleeps. You feel that he’d sleep in a doorway - or a gorgeous hotel. What’s going on in his mind?

“It’s the same with Carolyn, who I love playing. Their imaginations are bigger than themselves, so the conditions of their lives are always more extreme because they really don’t want to settle at home and just watch telly."

That said, Fiona's pretty clear on Carolyn and Konstantin's viewing habits (or lack thereof): “They would never watch Killing Eve!”

Killing Eve season 3 is on BBC iPlayer, with new episodes every Monday from 6am
