Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, has said she is “excited” to announce three new children’s books, with another four on the way.

The Duchess, known as Fergie, has signed a book deal with Serenity Press and has three titles out in the next few months.

On Twitter, she shared the covers of The Enchanted Oak Tree, as well as Genie Gems, Mission to Devon and Genie Gems meets Arthur Fantastic.

Karen McDermott, at Serenity Press, said: “We are delighted to welcome the Duchess to our press. Her beautiful books are aligned with our core value of sharing nurturing stories that empower young minds. We cannot wait to bring these books into readers’ hands.”

The company said she is an “exciting” addition to their author list.

The Duchess, 60, has written dozens of books, including creating the children’s series Budgie the Little Helicopter. She also turned her hand to diet advice, writing Dieting with the Duchess, and Dining with the Duchess.

The deal she’s signed with Serenity is for a total of seven books, with five picture books and two young chapter books included.

It’s not known how much she has earned from the latest deal, but in 2018, when filing court documents as she sued the News of the World for lost earnings, she said she missed out on about £750,000 from two potential series deals.

Since divorcing Prince Andrew, Fergie has stayed a close friend with the Duke and even lives with him.

She has also stood by his side despite the controversy and allegations over Andrew’s friendship with the pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

In December, she said: “When I talk about Prince Andrew, I talk about family because the last six months have been hard on the girls and me.

“To see such a wonderful man go through such enormous pain… he is the best man I know. It’s just incredible what he has done for Britain and it’s all nonsense.”

Speaking afterwards on Yahoo UK’s The Royal Special, royal experts voiced their disbelief at Andrew’s ex-wife’s attitude to the scandal surrounding him.

Commentator Omid Scobie said Fergie’s “unwavering support for Andrew, before the interview, after the interview, on social media, it was tone deaf”.

The pair have two children, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.
