Updated article on 22/07/22: New details about Fenty Hair have emerged

More than a year after filing trademarks for Fenty Hair, we now have exciting new details about Rihanna's hotly-anticipated expansion into the hair category.

According to the internet's favourite beauty sleuth @trendmood1, we can expect to see plenty of accessories coming from Fenty Hair. In July 2022 the Insta account listed 'barrettes, scrunchies, nets and clips, also wigs, extensions, different brushes and combs, hair bands, hairpins, hair curlers' as part of the launch.

If this is all true, Fenty Hair will no doubt set itself apart from all the celebrity haircare launches that we've seen so far, which tend to focus on haircare products rather than tools and wigs.

As we all know, RiRi is the undisputed queen of hair transformations (often done in collaboration with her hairstylist, Yusef) and serves us endless hair inspiration with every appearance. The singer has rocked every colour under the sun in recent years, from fiery auburn hues to glistening golden blonde, she's gone from pixie crops to waist length, mermaid locks and sported the coolest updos from a 1990s ponytail complete with flicks to intricate braids.

Given Rihanna's hair history, the style icon certainly knows a thing or two about creating a 'moment', and we love the idea of having the right tools to re-create some of her looks. With all things Fenty, there’s no doubt that the hair range will celebrate the rich history and beauty of Black hair while catering to every single hair type and texture.

There's no news yet on when we’ll be seeing Fenty Hair’s first drop, but watch this space for more updates.

If there's one doubtless fact we're 100% sure of, it's that Rihanna knows more than a thing or two about working great hair.

Whether she's reclaiming controversial mullet cuts, sporting waist-length scarlet braids or stealing the FROW spotlight with a super high ponytail, there's no hairstyle or colour we wouldn't trust Rihanna to totally rock.

Now, the singer and entrepreneur is taking her decades of hair expertise and pouring it into her very own business. We're talking about Fenty Hair.

Having changed the game for foundation shade ranges with Fenty Beauty, and proved that your daily SPF doesn't have to leave white marks whatever your skin tone with Fenty Skin, it appears that RiRi is here to upgrade our hair routines as well.

The beauty mogul filed trademarks on March 3 for a brand new hair product and tool line, Fenty Hair. Covering everything from styling and straightening, to colouring, bleaching and relaxing products, it seems Ri's planning to dominate every aspect of the hair industry. The trademark even covers hair glitter *insert comment about shining bright like a diamond*.

Currently there's no information on when Fenty Hair is set to drop or specific products, but, as always, there's mixed emotions from Rihanna's fans as she concentrates her efforts on beauty rather than new music, with one Twitter user commenting:

'Can’t wait to be around the house in my fenty furnitures, fenty skin on, in my savageXfenty, doing my fenty hair , wearing fentyXpuma, while listening to absolutely NOTHING.'

The 33-year-old's reported expansion into hair comes weeks after news broke that her Fenty fashion line with LVMH will be closing down. 'Rihanna and LVMH have jointly made the decision to put on hold the RTW activity, based in Europe, pending better conditions,' LVMH told WWD.

Although we're gutted to lose any part of the Rihanna universe, the beauty lover in us can't help but be excited about her new focus on all things hair.
