TV presenter Fearne Cotton took to Instagram on Thursday to share photos of her family’s trip to New York City, a holiday that coincided with The Rolling Stones playing at the MetLife stadium in nearby New Jersey. Fearne is married to Jesse James Wood, son of The Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood and the late Krissy Findlay. She shared some behind-the-scenes photos from the gig, including one of husband Jesse posing with Ronnie and The Sopranos actor Michael Imperioli, and one of daughter Honey Krissy Wood walking around the gigantic stadium in the sunshine.

She shared that the trip had special meaning, because Jesse got to meet one of his parents’ oldest friends, Bob Ellis, who they have a photo of at home when he was with Jesse’s dad Ronnie and Mick Jagger on the day Jesse was born in 1976.

“On Sunday night at the Stones show we got to meet ‘the man on our bathroom wall,’” Fearne wrote, explaining that the photo of the three men - that shows Ronnie on the phone at a hospital in Los Angeles, ringing family in the UK with the good news of his son’s birth – hangs in her bathroom at home.

“We had heard stories of this night where a few people from a house party they had all been at travelled to the hospital with Jesses mum Krissy whilst she was in labour. Bob was one of them. He was a great friend of Ronnie and Krissy’s. 47 years later Jesse got to meet him. What a surreal and gorgeous moment. And a beautiful connection to Jesses late mum.”

Fearne also shared photos of the family’s sightseeing days in New York City, which also included Fearne and her family on a rooftop with the Manhattan skyline in the background, outside the iconic Rockerfeller Center, and walking along Prince Street in SoHo.

“I used to feel discombobulated working in NYC in my twenties. Its grid streets and high octane energy used to spin me out,” she wrote as a caption to the photos.

“These days I love to dive into its chaos and soak up its electric buzz. This was a special trip for the whole Wood clan. Magical memory making which I’m so grateful for.”

She continued: “I have eaten way too many fries and need to revert back to saying ‘lift’ instead of ‘elevator’, as well as quickly getting over the jet lag as I have a very exciting podcast to record tomorrow. Big love to you all x.”

Also on the trip was Fearne and Jesse’s 11 year old son Rex. Jesse has two children from his first marriage, and he and Fearne, who will be celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary on Thursday 4 July, have Rex and eight year old Honey.

Since 2018, Fearne has presented the Happy Place podcast, in which she interviews different celebrities about love, life and loss. There are also Happy Place festivals this summer featuring Jason Donovan, Dawn O’Porter, Olivia Attwood and Denise Van Outen.
