Our Favourite St David's Day Recipes
St David's Day is just around the corner, and we're already dreaming of all of the food we plan on eating.
Wales has loads to offer in terms of culinary inspiration, from classic Welsh Cakes to Cawl, and Lamb Shanks to Cheesy Leeks, we've got 11 insanely-delicious recipes perfect for celebrating with this St David's Day.
There are more modern takes on the classics too, like our Mushroom Welsh Rarebit Toastie that's totally to die for.
FYI, a slice of Bara Brith is an absolute must in books.
But when actually is St David's Day? Well, it falls on the 1st March every year, just as it's beginning to feel a bit more spring-like.
If you want to celebrate by spreading the glad tidings in Welsh, you can say "Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus!"

Cheesy Leeks
Forget cauliflower cheese, cheesy leeks is hands down the best cheesy roast dinner side, right? We've packed ours with four different types of cheese. You heard me right. Cheddar, Gruyere, Brie AND Parmesan to make the ultimate cheese concoction.

Bara Brith
Flavoured with dried fruits and spices, different areas of Wales all have their own versions of Bara Brith, ranging from a lightly fruited yeasted loaf through to a fruit-packed sticky traybake.
We like to think of our recipe as somewhere in-between, with the delicious addition of Earl Grey tea and some lemon for a citrusy kick.

Roast Lamb
Roasting lamb is just as easy, if not easier, than roasting a chicken. Seriously, all you need to do is rub a lamb shoulder with a mixture of fresh herbs, garlic, and olive oil and throw it in the oven for an hour or so. Bonus points if you roast the meat on top of a bed of potatoes. (And why wouldn't you?)

Leek & Potato Soup
Serve with crusty homemade bread, or skip if that's not your style. We'd also add chilli flakes for a little bit of a kick.
