Let's face it, celebrities switch up their hair with about the same regularity that I declare "I need a snack"—that is, to say, pretty frequently. This year though, there's been an absolute wave of A-listers embracing more drastic hair change and opting for the chop. In fact, I'd say that the bob might just be the trending hairstyle of 2019 so far.
But alongside getting scissor happy, celebrities are embracing colour switch-ups, pixie cuts and we've even got a new red head or two.
Of course, it's only July so if the first half of 2019 is anything to go by then this looks set to be a year of major celebrity hair transformation.
Keep scrolling for my 7 favourite celebrity hair transformations of the year thus far.
Kim Kardashian West
Whether she's been blonde or brunette, Kim K's long hair are part of her trademark. So when she stepped out last month with a sleek, glossy lob, heads turned. A timeless style, I love Kim's new, shorter hair—she might have even persuaded me to go for a chop myself.
Lily Allen is no stranger to hair transformations—she's been brunette, bleach blonde and experimented with colours like pink and lavender. Her latest foray into life as a red head is the one that I'm most into though. So. Chic.
It might have been more of a one night only kind of thing but I had to include Laura Harrier's Met Gala hair transformation amongst my favourite looks of the year so far. Harrier usually rocks flowing beach waves so her bleached pixie cut was a real cool-girl departure.
The bob is definitely emerging as the A-list hairstyle of choice when they're embracing a new look. Lily James's sleek, sharp bob came courtesy of hairdresser John MacPherson and feels fresh and modern.
Another hair chameleon, Kerry Washington is a master of switching up her style from long ponytails and mid-length waves to pixie cuts and her latest switch to the tousled bob. I love how volumised this short cut is.
Another celebrity embracing a move to the red side, Zendaya's ditched her brunette strands for an auburn-tinted balayage look while keeping her roots dark.
