Fans spot Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner's baby name has Game of Thrones links

From Cosmopolitan

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas are the proud new parents to a baby daughter named Willa, who they welcomed into the world last Wednesday. As well as congratulating the new parents, fans have also been busy tweeting about the meaning behind the newborn's moniker and the connections it apparently has to Game of Thrones.

Of course, Sophie's biggest acting role to date is playing Sansa Stark in the HBO hit, so it wouldn't be totally surprising if they did draw some inspo from the series that made her famous.

After the news was revealed, sleuth-y GoT fans quickly pointed out that a character named Willa appeared in season five of the series, while another character also with the name Willa appeared in season eight. The name is also mentioned in the first season when Ned Stark tells Robert Baratheon that Wylla was Jon Snow's mother.

"Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas just became parents and apparently their daughter is named Willa. And that's a Game of Thrones name. And a Stark name. That's just so cool I can't. #gameofthrones #joejonas #sophieturner," one fan tweeted.

While a second shared, "Omg Sophie Turner has named her baby girl Willa. A complete Got aka A Song of Ice and Fire reference. Congratulations."

Not only that, the meaning behind the name Willa is also giving us serious Sansa Stark vibes. According to The Bump, Willa means "will helmet" or "resolute protection".

The proud parents, who married last year, confirmed the baby news to People, telling the publication they're "delighted to announce the birth of their baby."

Huge congratulations Sophie and Joe!
