Call My Agent has been renewed for a fifth season, following its huge success on Netflix. The show was slated to end after season four, but it has been confirmed that another series is in development, as well as a spin-off film.

The comedy-drama, set in Paris, follows the trials and tribulations of a group of charismatic celebrity talent agents and has been widely praised for its sharp script and humour. The show features star cameos from Juliette Binoche, Monica Bellucci, Isabelle Huppert and Sigourney Weaver, who all play an exaggerated version of themselves. Call My Agent first aired on the public France 2 channel before arriving on Netflix in 2019 where it attracted an international following.

The film, which will come before the new series, will reportedly focus on Camille Cottin’s character, Andrea. One of the mooted storylines include a narrative set in New York, where Andrea had considered moving to for work. The movie is expected to start filming at the end of this year or early 2022.

Season five will be a reboot and is hoped to feature all key original cast members. Netflix is in early talks to distribute both the film and fifth series, according to Variety.

“This show is about family, not a biological one, but one that formed in a professional environment and got stronger together through ups and downs, so of course we want to reunite this family,” said one of the series producers Harold Valentin.
